Last nite, I watched Child’s Play on Channel 412. It reminds me of my childhood days, when we were so scared watching the video that Abah rented for us.
Just imagine my 4 other siblings squeezing into the 3-seater with pillows in our hands. At times, we screamed… esp when we were shocked by the abrupt presence of the evil Chucky. And those pillows were used to cover our faces for a few mins until the wicked doll disappear.
Suddenly, Abah pressed the off button on the remote controller. And we yelled…
Us : Laaa Abahhhh…. Don’t la switch it off.
Abah : I thought u don’t wanna watch it bcoz u closed ur faces with the pillows.
Us : We closed our eyes, but not that we don’t wanna watch it.
Abah : It’s the same la… Hahaha.
After that, my brother Acik was a bit afraid to perform his Isyak prayer in the room, worried that Chucky might appear from under the bed. Hahaha. Not to mention when it’s the time to kip down… we squeezed closely, hoping that at least the other could protect.
It lasted quite long in our memories… but as for me, I never had nightmares about Chucky so far.
Speaking of nightmares, I observe Cikebum’s sleep is kinda interrupted nowadays. It affects my quality sleep too, in a way.
So, I wonder whether kids have nightmares too.
Perhaps in the form of another incubus?
Oh…BTW, Cikebum was already asleep when I watched the movie.
I have heard of elderly’s advice – not to bergalak sangat before the kids go to bed. Else, they’d mengigau (what’s the English term, ay?)
