Good laugh to shoo the Monday blues

Hi peeps!
How was ur weekend?
Mine? I'll update soon. Am off for invigilation till noon. For the time being... let's have some laugh with these stories.

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: 'Free to good home. You want it, you take it...'
For three days the fridge sat there without anyone looking twice. He eventually decided that people were too mistrustful of this deal. So he changed the sign to read: 'Fridge for sale $50.'

The next day someone stole it!

I stopped at Mc Donald's and ordered some fries.

The girl behind the counter said "would you like some fries with that?"

One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when someone shouted....
'Look at that dead bird!'

Someone looked up at the sky and said...'where? '

While looking at a house, my brother asked the estate agent which direction was north because he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning.

She asked, 'Does the sun rise in the north?'

My brother explained that the sun rises in the east and has for sometime.

She shook her head and said, 'Oh, I don't keep up with all that stuff....... '

My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard an admin girl talking about the
sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the beach.

She drove down in a convertible, but said she 'didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car was moving'.

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car which is designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped.

She keeps it in the car trunk.

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, 'Ouch! The chain must rip out every time she turns her head!"
I had to explain that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned....

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area and went to the lost luggage office and reported the loss.

The woman there smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and said I was in good hands.

'Now,' she asked me, 'Has your plane arrived yet?'....
(I work with professionals like this.)

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and
the cook asked him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time then said 'Just cut it into 4 pieces;
I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6 pieces.

And last, but not the least:
Dumb as a box of Rocks

VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE KIND OF REPRESENTATION WE HAVE IN CONGRESS, TRUE STORY:

A noted psychiatrist was a guest speaker at an academic function where Nancy Pelosi happened to appear. Ms Pelosi took the opportunity to schmooze the good doctor a bit and asked him a question with which he was most at ease.

'Would you mind telling me, Doctor,' she asked, 'how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?'

'Nothing is easier,' he replied. 'You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track.'

'What sort of question?' asked Pelosi.

Well, you might ask, 'Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?''

Pelosi thought a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, 'You wouldn't happen to have another example would you? I must confess I don't know much about history..'

3) Add 3

4) Multiply again by 3

5) You'll get a 2 digit number.....maybe 42, for example

6) Add the digits together. Example 4 and 2 = 6

Now Scroll down.

With that number, see who your ROLE MODEL is from the list below:

Ostrich struts?

There are times when I bump into people I don't like, I pretended not to see them. It's not bcoz I am afraid to say hello to them, but I simply am lazy to behave unnaturally. That is so not me.

I have heard of an old belief saying that an ostrich would hide its head in the sand when it is frightened (when it sees enemies, that is). It makes the ostrich feels safe that way.

So, sometimes I feel funny at myself for 'behaving like an ostrich.'

However, there is no evidence that the popular belief is true. It is wrong and has never been recorded. No one has actually observed this happening.

Although ostriches are not among the more intelligent species of animals, they are not stupid enough to hide their heads, thinking they cannot be seen. In fact, when it is frightened, it would drop to the ground, with its neck stretched parallel with it and lie still. When the danger comes closer, just like other animals...it will take off and run.

Story 1

Along (my eldest sister), Bettyone (my younger sister) and I were riding in a car one day. Along was driving and we both were at the back seat (bcoz the co-driver seat was full of books).

Along : Y'know...my friend told me that she ate an ostrich dish.

Me : (thinking of teasing her) What?

Along : Yes, I said ostrich.

Me : She ATE ostrich?

Along : Yeah...what's wrong with that?

Me : (trying hard not to laugh). That's ridiculous! Do u know what is an ostrich?

Along : Err... (couldnt peek at the rear mirror, was focusing on the road)

Me : (getting support to tease) U see, Yone! Makan ostrich!!!!

Yone : Huh?!! Giler ahhh...

Along : Ostrich is that kinda burung unta right? So, boleh la makan.

Me : No la.

Along : Then, what is it?

Me : (quickly think for a frightening answer) It's tenggiling la!

Along : Hoh?! I tot it's burung unta. I better tell my fren very soon.

Me & Yone : Hey, can't u see that our nostrils are big now...bcoz we are lying. Haha

Along : Cettt... tau la vocab aku x power!!! Hang jagaa...

Story 2

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders.

The man says, "A hamburger, fries and a coke," and turns to the ostrich, "What’s yours?"

"I’ll have the same," says the ostrich.

A short time later the waitress returns with the order ‘That will be $9.40 please,’ and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment.

The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, ‘A hamburger, fries and a coke’

The ostrich says, ‘I’ll have the same.’

Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.

This becomes routine until the two enter again. ‘The usual?’ asks the waitress.

‘No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad,’ says the man.

‘Same,’ says the ostrich.

Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, ‘That will be $32.62.’

Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.

The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. ‘Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?

‘Well,’ says the man, ’several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie apeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.’

‘That’s brilliant!’ says the waitress. Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you’ll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live. It’s brilliant!’

‘That’s right. Whether it’s a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact amount of money is always there,’ says the man.

The waitress asks, ‘What’s with the ostrich?’

The man sighs, pauses and answers, ‘My second wish was for a tall chick with a big butt and long legs who agrees with everything I say.’

Colours of Penang

Last weekend, we went back to Penang... with the intention to break fast together with my family, as this year we will be celebrating Raya at Endau.

Made a move by 7ish and arrived by half to midnite.

The next day, plans were made with my bro, Kokokularigagahberani & family... So, we bought various dishes at Param and enjoyed 'em with the rest of the clans.

(No pix as I myself was so bz breaking the unbroken fast. Teehee)

Hohoho. Iman is MakTok's favourite! Huahuahua

Came Sunday, everybody was so tempted to try buffet at Sunway Hotel, Seberang Jaya. My youngest sister, Ina used to work there. She has been promising discounts/vouchers for special price there for sooo long... but at least, this time we managed to get free for one head. Haha.

Ina who couldn't wait to meet Abg Zabidi. Hahaha

p/s: Oit, Ina... Aku sokong la hang dgn Abg Bidi tu. Confirm mak dgn Abah suka. As long as I can eat free buffet for 30days. (evil sungguh!)

The price? Well, if u are looking for affordable choices for Ramadan buffets, this is the place. It's just RM48 per head....for...

scrumptious buffet spreads that will tantalise your taste buds and satiate your hunger - without breaking the bank this month!
I love the mussels very much!
Ramadan is the time of abstinence? Eheh...

Us, before filling in the tables with food and walloping 'em all.

At home...muka budak x puasa...

like Upin Ipin, with his 'ayam ciken'

Monday, we went to Param... and look at these fancy banners.

Err...apa yang sangkut? Hehe >:)
Kak Nita Sayangku Ikan Bakar. Wakakaka...
I tell u what, her bangles/bracelets sampai siku!!!

Telur berbasuh. May I ask the hawker- which egg? Hehe

Referring to my disappointment with my G900 Sony E, I am now using 6210, the Navigator... bought after consulting Kokokularigagahberani.

I believe Nokia will never upset me, hence am having peace of mind now. The 3.2MP is not an issue, as my old digicam with the same spec performed well anyway. Plus, I always bring my 8MP Olympus wherever I go.

Please enjoy this videoclip of Apek singing outside Lorong Kulit. Wait until u see him dancing. Hahaha.

Ohhh...Penang is so colourful!

Indo vocab

(Rubbing my palms) Hehe. Am going to Bandung very soon.

So, I’m in the Indo mood.

When we first emailed each other, MamaPasha said “Wah! Jago banget bahasa Indonya.”

(*smug face*)

I owe that to Inten and Desi, my housemate and classmate during my postgrad years.

I speak their language not bcoz I refuse to ‘mendaulatkan’ our mother tongue. But I don’t wanna be like ayam and itik.

To me, it’s gonna be damn funny if they talk to me in Indo, while I reply in Bahasa Melayu (or is it Bahasa Malaysia?) U see, even the name of the language has been changed a few times. Pendirian pun xde, nak mendaulat apakebendanya?

Hence, I only use our language at times I really wanna express myself while talking to them.

One funny conversation was when we were walking together towards the musolla with Fiza, another Malaysian who keeps her mother tongue, even while speaking to Indonesians.

Inten : Is, ini celana kamu yang baru beli kemaren?

Me : Apa celana…celana? Seluar la…

Inten : Hah?! Seluar??? Qeqeqeqe...

Fiza : Ooo...orang Indonesia panggil celana ye? Lawak la pulak.

Inten : Emang kamu panggilnya seluar? (chuckling)

Me : Iya...

Inten : Terus, kalo seluar dalam, panggilnya apa?

Me+Fiza : Seluar dalam la.

Inten : Lho? Udah seLUAR, dalam lagi??? Hahaha.

Me: Woi… apa kutuk-kutuk ni woi?

That day when I was at MamaPasha’s place, I read her recipe books. I do understand few ingredients, but mak aiii... There are many more that I do not know! :P

Hugs for a friend...

Year: 1975 Situation : Last day of school

Arjun Singh and Pargat Singh are very close friends. The whole school
talked about their friendship. They had been friends right from their kindergarten days.

They have studied together, roamed around together, sat together in school, ate together. They both wanted to become Police officials and serve the country. But today was a day they always dreaded. It was their last day together.

On their way back from School Arjun started talking

Arjun : Bro! I am moving to a different city to study. I will miss you man

Pargat: I will miss you too mate. But nothing can break our friendship. We will at least meet once every year.

Arjun: Yes that is a deal

.....and they parted with tears in their eyes...

As time went by, both got busy with their work life. They kept their promise for two years and after that they moved on with their own lives and in the process Arjun lost his contact with Pargat.

Time went by and both became Police Officers.

Year: 2009
Venue: The Police station where Arjun works

Tring... Tring...

Arjun picks up the call and he gets a pleasant surprise...

"Is this Arjun?"

"Yes. Who is on the line?"

" Bro. Its Pargat! I just found out that you are posted in this station"

Tear drops welled up Arjun's eyes

Arjun: Where are you

Pargat: I am standing outside the Police station. Come Out

Arjun: Is it? I am coming right away.

Arjun rushed out of the Police station and saw Pargat standing outside.

They were seeing each other for the first time after thirty years. He
wanted to go and hug his friend.

But he could not hug his friend. It was a very touching moment for both
of them :

Dancing to Thomas's tune

What is the miracle that Thomas (the Tank Engine) have? It's hard to tell, but obviously Cikebum was very happy when he found a Thomas book, esp the one with buttons that have sounds when preseed.

Enjoy these movies of Cikebum & Pasha shaking their stuff between the shelves in the SACC Mall's MPH. I didn't buy that boook, though... as I think I better buy something else for him with RM84.90 :P

And this one is the 'objective evidence' of Pasha unwilling to share the book with Cikebum. Hahaha.

Tok Imam & Cik Ciko

I got this from my Acik in my email...

Di sebuah kampung, ada 3 org remaja yg suka lepak. Sorang tu nama dia Ali,sorang tu Budin dan sorang lagi Ciko.. Aktiviti seharian depa ni menyebabkan tok imam tak senang duduk. Pd satu hari tok imam tu datang dengan niat nak tarbiyah depa ni.

Maka berlakulah beberapa insiden cabar-mencabar. Tok imam tu cabar si mangkuk 3 ekor tu ke surau waktu Maghrib nanti.

Si Ali pun berkata, "Tok imam ingat kami ni jahil sangat ke? Takpa, nanti kami buktikan yang kami bukan la jahil sangat seperti yang disangkakan" .

Maka apabila hampir masuk waktu Maghrib pegilah malaun 3 ekor tu ke surau.

Tok imam pun suruh Ali azan.. Tanpa berlengah terus je Ali azan, "Allah Ta'ala... Allah Ta'ala..." Dengan segera tok imam merampas mikrofon drp Ali & menyuruh tok bilal azan semula. Terselah kejahilan Ali.

Selepas iqamat, masa nak sembahyang tok imam pun mengangkat takbiratul ihram. Tok imam pun satu hal, angkat sekali x khusyuk, angkat 2x pun x khusyuk jugak lagi.

Masuk je kali ketiga, Budin panggil tok imam. "Tok, tok duduk kat belakang, biar saya jadi imam." Tok imam pun undur le ke belakang.

Budin pun angkat le takbiratul ihram. "Allahu akbar!" Maka para makmum pun ikut angkat takbiratul ihram & memulakan solat. Tiba2 je si Budin ni pusing ke belakang dan berkata, "Aa, tengok! Sekali jee tokkkk!!"

Lalu batallah solat Budin. Yg lain2 pun ikut berenti sambil ketawa terbahak-bahak..

Tok imam pun mintak pulak si Ciko jadi imam.

"He hee, itu belum ambil wuduk lagi tu.Kalau tak, lagi dassat aku semayang tok!!!! He heee..."

Tok imam pun terkedu & terpana...

Moralnye : Jangan lupa ambil wuduk sebelum solat, hormati org lebih tua & berpengalaman!!!

p/s: Jangan ada pulak yang nak tarbiyah aku sebab x mention nama watak tu bukan nama sebenar, etc.

Ba-alif-ba-ya

Mentang-mentang la tengah glamour, dia buat special appearance pulak!

Earlier this afternoon, on our way back home from the DOE Selangor sports... suddenly the traffic flow slowed down...
MrHubby : Eh... b*bi la!
Moi : What? Where?
MrHubby : There... over there.
Moi : *jaw-dropped*

Yes, a wild boar just crossed the road from Section 8 area to Section 7 (fasa orang kaya). Where the hell did it come from?

No wonder the lorry, cars, plus a patrol car in front of us also slowed down and stopped out of the blue. Polis pun respek kat binatang tu... Hehehe :P

Luckily no one knocked it down with the car. Otherwise, he/she would have to repair the dents (bukan boleh claim kat haiwan tu pun)... and have to samak some more. Suwey betul!

Looking at this pix reminds me of the pink piggy bank I got from ANZ when I opened a bank account there. Then, I gave it away to Wan Sham... in spite of its cuteness. Eee... tak sanggup nak simpan!

Samak is to cleanse the filth (mughallazah) by washing the affected area 7 times; one which with water mixed with earth ( soil or sand ), and 6 with clean running water to ensure taharah or purification.

Spell-it-right

That day, on our way back to Endau for Aidiladha, we stopped at Pilah to buy some lemangs. And I snapped a photo of this catchy banner...

Know why?
Let's have a look at another one.

If there were no Roman writing, will u be able to read the name of the place? If u say Yes, then u gotta be 'lacking somewhere' too.
How could u, if I don't even know what Arabic/Jawi letter is that after the Alif. It's not jim, not ha, not kho, and not cha.

p/s: Mati la kena kutuk dgn org Kampung Semanyiaq balik japgi :P

Not bcoz I was a cikgu before that I am concern of the spelling. Okay... u may excuse the banner, maybe it was just a small business (which is not even an enterprise), but what about the signboard for the village? Shouldn't it be clearly and correctly spelt, just like roadsigns?

* Ohh..itu saya tau, cikgu. Yang ini saya kenal ni. Ini huruf M.
** Itu la Pak Abu, lain kali jangan suka ketawakan org. Yang ini bukan huruf M. Ini huruf Kho!

Love thy neighbour

Yesterday, when we arrived home after work, Ah Pei was outside shearing the shrub. As usual, I greeted her and after unlocking the gate I approached her, telling that soon we will be moving out. So, just in case if she sees lorries loading our stuff, she wouldn't be so wary and start calling the guards/police.

Apart from Ah Pei & Mr Leong who live next door, there's Purwanes' family and Kak Bad's. The rest in the row is anonymous. Hehehe.
Occupying the corner lot means that we have less neighbours, which is a bonus to us. Not that we don't socialize. But I just can't stand snoopies.

The other row facing the side of the house are Mr Leong (again, but a richer one), an unknown neighbour and Sofia. While in the backyard, there's this family whom we 'hi' to once in a while, and they even helped us when a snake got into our house that day.
Ahhh... very little that I know, eh... after two years renting there. What a bad neighbour I am!

Back to Ah Pei & Mr Leong... they are the type that I really like. We greet & smile whenever we see each other. Yet when there are earth-shattering news (yes, I am exaggerating :P), we'll let each others know. e.g when someone broke into their house before.

Yet, due to their hardworking nature... beautifying their house and doing gardening, Sham & I always 'create' the dialogues they might have had about us.

Scene 1
Us : Wah! Doing gardening, eh? So rajin!
Neighbour : Ya la. Sikit-sikit saja. U don't do meh?
Us : No la. We love growing the weeds.

Scene 2
Us : Why do u do gardening up to here? This is already our compound.
Neighbour : What to do? U don't want to.
Us : Ehem, wanna be sarcastic eh?

Scene 3
Neighbour : Hey, guys. U don't feel like cutting the grass/weeds ah?
Us : No la. Just let it be. It's not our house anyway.
Neighbour : The problem is... when your weeds are tall, we couldn't see if there's any giraffe in your yard.

Hahaha. That's just our buruk sangka on the nice neighbours.

Actually I once had nosy neighbours in BNE who loved prying meddlesome-ly. I only noticed when another Malay (who lived miles away) bumped into me at the Saturday market and asked, "Whoa! U joyfully take piccas outside ur house, eh?"
My mind quickly told me "It must be the Malay couple who live across the road."

My oh my... Malays are like that. I thought when they are abroad, they wouldn't be as kepoh as they are in the home country. Boy, was I wrong!
That's why until today, I refuse to live in a typical Malay community. I'd rather have multi-racial neighbours although I have to tolerate the loud bangs of firecrackers during Chinese New Year and the noise made during the Hindu parade once in a blue moon.

BTW, Rasulullah (SAW) said it was not right for a Muslim to sleep with a full stomach after having had a good meal but let his neighbour starve. Nowadays, we sleep like pythons after having swallowed a goat. Errr... there's no starving neighbours in BBR, right? Teeheehee :P

I wonder... Soon when I move in to the new house, what type of neighbour will I have? Nosy? Concern? Ignorant? Friendly? Kaypo chee?
I might not exchange delicacies with them that often as the kampungites do or let my kid(s) cry obstreperously in the middle of the quiet nite. But if there is no emergencies, I surely will leave them alone.

U don't wanna know...

Talks at the IOS and INTEC yesterday went smoothly. Soon after, I brought 'em to Restoran Tasik Indah (near the Shah Alam Lake Garden) for dinner. Apparently, they said it was a good choice of place- a floating restaurant!

While waiting for the guys, I gave Lesley & Jeanette some gifts- including these scarves that they liked so much.

Lesley was bz taking some photos of the surrounding- the mosque, the tortoises, etc. We were later told that her dad was a photographer. No wonder the camera she's holding is worth thousands of dollars!

I also snapped one, of the view from our table.

One for the camera, before it gets dark. Shortly after this shot, the table was filled with black pepper crabs, butter prawn, ginger onion venison, mutton curry, broccoli and mushroom and kangkong belacan! Voila!

Guri's peek-a-booing at cheeky little Adam who's on Jeanette's lap. Adam really had a good time, unlike during their last visit in February.

Prasad, who's gonna be the Tarzan at Taylor's dinner tonight is adapting to the nature by having all types of juices on the menu board.

We chitchatted about so many things that the restaurant lurched into a madhouse scene of undulating guffaws. We talked about jobs, travelling, research opportunities, me going back to BNE, Don the Nostradamus (yeah, he's Guri's best friend) and the best part was about Melanie (Prasad's boss) who's kinda senile at her 40's.

p/s: It's Melanie, dear... not Milenia! :P

She's weird in her own ways that she (may be purposely) keeps changing schedules set up for her and urging people to do impossible things with unrealistic deadlines. She even once took a fortnight off, leaving her work behind while they have just started up a new programme. Hello! It's a new programme! And u can't leave it simply like that to the wrong person!
Prasad was

At one time, Prasad got the chance to talk with her... and came up the question "Melanie, what's the task of a Programme Director?"

With a serious face, she answered "U don't wanna know..."

Again, we burst into laughter. The hee-haw was so loud and grabbed the attention of the other customers around us. They might wonder what the hell were these multi-racial chums talking about.

Hahaha! I bet if he insisted her to answer, she might have to admit it "Okay... okay... Actually, I don't know."

And Jeanette...
My hubby's name is SAM, not Charlie.
If U call him Charlie, he might strangle me for having an affair with another man! :P

My oh my... I really felt good laughing until the back breaks, until the stomach muscles cramp, and until the belly button pops out!

I laugh bcoz I can...

How do u laugh?
Hahaha? :) or Kah..kah...kah?
Hehehe? :D or perhaps Hihihi?
Hohoho? or Huhuhu?

or

Mwahahahahaha.... (LOL, rolling)?

When I think of annoying laughter, I remember the advice in the Quran...

And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice. Verily, the harshest of all voices is the voice (braying) of a donkey.’ (Luqman: 19)

Whether u laugh or chuckle, there are various reasons people laugh.
The first and most obvious reason is, something is funny. Someone makes a joke and everyone busts out in laughter...ha ha ha ha ha ha... There may be some that don't laugh out loud and that's okay - they're still laughing inside.

It takes a lot for some people to laugh out loud. Some people are just embarrassed, some are just too reserved. Then there are others who laugh out loud for no reason at everything. But it's not a real laugh, it's a dribbled effortless laugh.

Every time they speak, they laugh, every time someone else speaks, they laugh. Not because they are nervous, or scared, they just have a lapse in their social skills.

They can't carry a conversation so they fill in the blanks by "laughing." They have nothing to bring to the table, no insight, no breaking news stories, anecdotes, no nothing, just fake laughter.

Unless the conversation is about them, they have nothing to say, but "hee hee..."

So now everyone is forced to listen to this cackling hyena from across the room spin tales about themselves and their uninspired life. A little laugh here, a little laugh there and a little, "look everyone thinks I'm so intelligent" laugh.

All that laughing is covering something up . It's covering up your ineptitude. But keep it up, apparently it's working!

Laugh kookaburra laugh

Hahaha...who can tell? Today is the first day Adam Cikebum starts to laugh. It's no ordinary laugh. But a hearty laugh...

The best part is it happens when we visited Bobby & Nur, who just had a new arrival of Hani Reeqa. She's a tiny little girl (note that she's having jaundice).

I suppose, Adam understood that we are trying to matchmake the two of them. Haha! Notty little baby!
