I reckon most Malaysians are aware that Kate Middleton appeared with hijab during a visit to the KLCC mosque recently. She even took off her shoes (or royal slippers) and that for me is enough to know she respects every way of life.
Sweet sangat. Tak kisah la pasal dia pakai skirt tu kan. Alaa..orang kita pun ada je yang pakai 'tak berapa lengkap' kalau ke masjid.
Well, interestingly the UK public/media endlessly view the hijab as a sign of OPPRESSION. But the moment the Princess is indecently exploited, the newspapers use PICTURES LIKE THESE.
Now all of a sudden, having a headscarf is ELEGANT, INNOCENT, MODEST.
That's the proof in the beauty and wisdom of the hijab
...and the double standards / hypocrisy of the media.
Maybe the not-so-warm South Aussies pun kena berfikiran macam ni. Sebab aku rasa la, maybe diorang ni tak berapa nak tegur sebab tengok aku pakai tudung. Lelaki-lelaki Malaya kat sini takde pulak terasa discriminated. Ye la...diorang bukannya pakai serban pun kat sini.
Macam yang Sharyn (co-SV aku) cakap... What's the problem orang tu nak pakai hijab ke apa ke? Sama je la macam pakai beanie, pakai topi. Itu pilihan masing-masing. Bukannya kacau kepala orang. (dia cakap dalam English la kan. hehe)
But hey, at least I have made some local friends now.
