Raya songs

I have been playing raya songs on my PC again and again. And that doesn't include those new-but-nonsense songs sung by the newcomers of the entertainment industry.

I love raya songs Suasana Hari Raya by Anuar & Elina (ohh..abang Nuar centaku!) and Seloka Hari Raya by Hail Amir & Uji Rashid (that reminds me of last year's dinner with the students- I was forced to sing it on the stage).

Every year, composers and lyricists come up with new raya songs, but almost none of them seem to be catchy to me. Bad huh?

Aside from those abovementioned songs, I also enjoy these...

Saloma's Selamat Hari Raya
I used to sing it this way to Mak.
"Mintak mak kuih sepotong... kalau tidak kaki emak saya potong"
Evil tak? Hohoho.

This is also a must-sing while playing fireworks when we were small. Ye la...if we sing Black Dog Bones mellow song, the fireworks would ignite in a slow motion la kot. Hahaha


Fazidah Joned's Selamat Hari Raya
"Aidilfitri...hari bahgia, hari yang mulia..."--- the tempo makes me feel like doing a twist. Ahah!


Sharifah Aini's Selamat Hari Raya
"Hai selamat hari raya..kami semua ucapkan
menikmati hidangan yang kami sediakan"


Ahmad Jais' Selamat Hari Raya
Aisey... So many songs of the same title, ay? And I feel ancient for having this liking towards old songs, rather than the contemporary ones. Duhhh...


Mamat's KuPohon Restu Ayah dan Bonda
A newer version of AlJawaher's. The melody is sweet but as Kokokularigagahberani said "Suara seorang perogol." Hahaha. Jahatnya Acik!


Junainah's Suasana Riang Di Hari Raya
It starts with "Marilah adikku...marilah bersamaku..."
Now it has to be changed to"Marilah anakku...marilah bersamaku..."


M.Nasir's Suatu Hari Di Hari Raya
I reckon most people like it too. Fast beat, but it's meaningful.


Bersabarlah Sayang
Actually I quite don't get it ...I mean, the meaning of the lyrics. Anyway, I like it bcoz it was re-sung by Anuar Zain. Hihihi...boleh gitu?

Obviously this is bcoz my SIL-xjadi, Ziana. Huk huk. If u listen carefully, it doesn't sound like a raya song, except that part "Pelita kunyalakan...."


Joget Aidilfitri -is it really sung by Ning Baizura?

Fine. Enuff about Raya songs. But which one is your favourite?

Tomorrow is an almost big day. The day after tomorrow (Friday) is Cikebum's 2nd birthday, but as the sitter will be off to her hometown, I will be having a small party at the nursery tomorrow.
So, I'd be slightly bz with the cakes (by MamaPasha), birthday favours, etc.


Okay...am off to the saloon. Need to have a great hair wash before the long break. Bye!
