I love seeing through my kids' eyes. Nak-nak pulak, sebab Lil Adam is not as expressive as I am.
So, that day when he had to express his feelings by drawing in a mini book...
I could tell that, he's HAPPY WHEN HE'S LISTENING TO THE MUSIC.
Comel pulak aku tengok earphone yang dah sama macam headphone. Mihmihmih.
...and when he's SURPRISED!
I think he's trying to draw his hands on his cheeks like that kot.
SAD -was drawn as him isolating himself in his room.
Siap ada suis lampu kat dinding yang takbolehblah tu.
FRIGHTENED.
Yang ni paling best. Out of the box.
Aku suruh dia interpret lukisan dia...and he said he is not scared. So, it was just a random thing (of shadowy branches of a tree) that he drew.
Bagus le jugak, sebab memang aku ajar dia supaya tak takut kat makhluk pun. Orang kita biasanya sikit-sikit takutkan anak dengan momok. Kalau takat anak tu jadi penakut, takpe lagi. Ni siap jadi menyimpang akidah le pulak.
Lastly, I feel ANGRY.
Hahaha... macam kartun. Siap keluar asap kat telinga.
Rupanya ni gambar dia marah kat adik dia. Please note yang sebelah tu adalah kepala Lil Adib dengan muka sedih. Hihihihi...
Tu cerita pasal feelings.
Quite recently, we had an interview with Lil Adam's teacher, Alison (Shaw).
Just a meeting to discuss on how he's doing, sebab dalam kelas tu semua budak Year 2. Cuma Lil Adam dan sorang lagi je Year 1.
Alison said, he's doing well.
His spelling is good. He keeps trying, and wasn't afraid to give it a go.
Cuma bab focus, susah sikit...because he is easily distracted, sebab kelas tu agak bising. Aku tanya le kot-kot dia sendiri yang buat bising, as he's quite a chatterbox. Tapi Alison cakap tak, budak lain yang pot-pet-pot-pet.
Hehehe. Susah nak percaya, sebab kat rumah... dia la yang jadi Hasbullah Awang kalau time tengok TV. Bahahaha
Lagi satu, his confidence in trying something new, and making more friends.
Yang ni jenuh aku pikir camna dia boleh tak mewarisi perangai aku. Hmmm...
Sebelum ni, informally aku cuma sembang dengan sorang lagi cikgu kelas dia, Ms. Tyney (Di). They both agreed that he's doing well for a Year1 student in a Year 2 class.
Alhamdulillah.
We also met Ms Ciufoli (Melissa), his Italian teacher.
Semangat gitu cikgu tu explain kat kiotrang pasal pembelajaran Italian. Siap tunjuk kat board bagai.
Aku pun terover excited gak, sebab aku pun dok belajar Italian dengan Joe. Aku belajar pun saja je takat nak tambah language skills. Boleh le aku impress SV aku. Harharhar.
Lagipun setakat ni aku cuma reti BM, English, Bahasa Arab, Bahasa Indo....
Hmmm habis la makin confuse Lil Adib kat rumah.
Dengar aku & MrHubby cakap BM, dengar Lil Adam cakap English, bila tengok Dora cakap Spanish, Ultraman pulak cakap Jepun. Mihmihmih. Entah bila la dia nak jadi bertih jagung macam abang dia.
Then kitorang jumpa Mrs Chawla (Sudesh) pulak.
Lil Adam selalu sangat mention pasal cikgu dia ni.
This year Mrs Chawla dah tak ajar music/dance. Instead, she's teaching Health.
So, takde mende sangat la nak ditanya pasal Lil Adam. Maybe sebab subject ni aku pun dok banyak bebel kat rumah. Maklumlah... somehow, bidang aku jugak.
Sayangnya kitorang tak buat appointment untuk jumpa Mr Baker (his music teacher), but Mrs Chawla dah tulis..akan tolong cakapkan bagi pihak kitorang.
So, the first term is ending soon. Minggu ni last, so early dismissal at 2, dan boleh pakai casual ke sekolah.
Alhamdulillah everything goes well.
i br teringatkan u in the car to work this morning. it's bcoz zayd at 13 mths is already speaking a few words, quite clearly (we don't deal with baby talk like nenen or mamam in the house). things that he can say are like, 'ayah, nak, tak nak, kakak, ibu, jatuh, habis, duduk, yak (berak)'. i am quite amazed bcoz he beats his sister Aisyah easily when she was his age. Aisyah didn't really start to talk until she was 2 years and older.
ReplyDeleteno. i'm not gloating. read more...
it was only then i realised that, all the words that zayd has spoken, are in Malay. With his sister, I taught her a lot of English words, she was surrounded by English-speaking media (TV, DVDs, people on the street), but my husband and i spoke malay to each other. kesian Aisyah konfius. mungkin sbb tu dia amik masa sket nak start bercakap. with zayd, i think he picks the language up faster becoz things are more consistent (i dont speak english with him at all, almost, shame on me!). and admittedly, BM is easier to pronounce and the grammar is simpler.
perhaps that's also why adib is taking longer than adam did to talk? granted, different children have different abilities and talents, but i seriously think this plays a major part. wish there were experts to back this up.
but for now, i think there's no real worry about the cutey tomato-mato. skali dia pandai ckp nnt, habis semua language dia bole master, which is good for him :) hehe... (i hope i haven't offended u in any way. i sure didn't mean to).
ps: i miss class work like adam's book of feeling. in malaysia, as you know it, hari2 bwk balik worksheet, and they are very mechanical (kalo maths it's always about doing addition, kalo writing, it's always about writing neatly by tracing the dots. no room for creativity. sigh)
don't worry, Oyis. I am not offended at all. mmg i rasa dia confused kot. Cuma mcm "awat la lama sgt mama tunggu Adib oiii!!!?"
Deletemaybe I should be more consistent. err..i consistent la jugak. so MrHubby la punya salah ni (hahaha. nak gak blame org lain!)
i masih risau psl penguasaan BM adam. sgt risau.
tu la..dulu confident sgt dia leh ckp BM naturally.
