Time for tea! (again)

Once in every semester or better still, once a year…my students will go to the Cameron Highlands. Well, not that I am very fond of the place. Last year, it was the first… and this year, is because I am not entering a forest when I bring li’l Adam along.

So, for the sake of Hydrology and Water Resources and Fundamentals of Air Pollution (as documented in the paperwork ;))…Rusdin & I brought the ASB3EN students to Cameron Highlands for 3 days, 2 nights.

Well, as usual...water sampling at Lata Iskandar, Gunung Berembun, Mosses Forest, etc.

At night, we played Charade the S game... My group won! and I dominated the S game too... Haha. Sometimes, winning too many times doesn't make u feel good huh? :P

At the night market, Sham & I bought boxes of fruit tea, strawberries and flowers. I was so excited to get good bargain for my fav lilies. I hinted the students "Who wants to get an A for this subject? The hint is, I love lilies..." Hahaha. But no one dared to bribe me!

Retro dinner

Last night, AS229 had a Pre-Grad Dinner, with the theme Retro. It was a bit confusing whether we should wear 60’s retro (like P.Ramlee/Saloma) or 70’s retro (like Elvis/John Travolta). No one wore afro hair though.

I myself wore a red/black polka dot blouse, tied in the waist. And Sham had a red handkerchief at his neck. Little Adam had a striped red tie along with his polka dot pyjamas.

Looking at the my extra-concern on how good/ugly would I look, before getting outta the car, Sham said “This is the problem when the lecturer has a young heart! She never had enough when she was a student”

Hahaha. That’s me… always trying my best to make the theme happen!

The function went well. Luckily, I wasn’t asked to karaoke..hehe…how good to have a baby! Plus, the students were all willing to babysit Adam when we enjoy the meals.

KK...here I come!

I don't view this Misi Akademik (Program KPT bersama Rakyat: Jom Masuk U) as a burden. This time, the program brought me to Kota Kinabalu. The place I've always wanted to go.
That's why to me, it's more like a trip to enjoy. See, the importance of ikhlas in everything we do!

I was kinda anxious wondering whether Adam will be fine being in the plane. Apparently, he behaved very well that even Adi (the colleague who travelled with me) was impressed.
Looks like Adam is comfortable being handled by Adi when I need to loosen my muscles or taking my turn to eat.

We checked in at the Radius International Waterfront. The room was not so big, but spacious enough for the three of us. This is the view from our room. Nice huh?

Well, we were occupied on Saturday and Sunday with the program...providing info to the prospective students. Most of them were unsure of their ways after leaving schools. Poor them!
The worse part is, they didn't bother to ask.
Instead, we were the one asking them asking what their ambitions/interests are. (some of them couldn't even give a firm answer)

The stupid ones came up with questions like...
"What if I want to be a stewardess?"
"I want to be a doctor, can't I?" (she barely has an A in her exam slip)
"Can I apply for Asasi (matriculation) program?" (they don't even have an A)

The ignorant non-Bumis also came up looking for info. Hello, not to be racist...but this is Universiti Teknologi MARA. I repeat, MARA... so it means, only for Bumiputeras.

Sham also brought us to places where he used to hangout during his undergrad days. This is his fav place for bubble tea. There, he has another dash of bubble milk tea.
(Macam Filipino lak...amik gambar kat shopping complex...hahaha)
On our way back to KL, then only Adam started making noise (it could be the humming noise of the flight, or the pressure fluctuation that bothered him).
He refused to stop crying though I played peek aboo and breastfed him. The guy in the same row even gave him a bunch of keys to cheer him up, but that only worked for a few minutes.

The only solution? I had to carry him, to the tail of the aeroplane while he smiled at other passengers. There, I chitchatted with the stewardesses until they asked me to return to my seat, where Adam continued screaming again. Sigh!

Just minutes upon arrival at the airport, Adam's nappy and romper needed to be changed. Uh-uh...no wonder he was not happy...his stomach was upset!
Adam...adam... (shaking my head)

In the baby seat

This week, we commute between Shah Alam - Equatorial Bangi almost everyday. Sham has a certification course and coincidently, I have a seminar too.

The room was spacious and had a good view. We didn't really occupy the room provided, though... but we enjoyed the spread of buffet. Nyum nyum...I love it! Am never bored of the scrumptious seafood, delectable healthy pies and toothsome sweet desserts. Hahaha

This week also sees another new thing for little Adam. After being pampered so much, sitting on Mama's lap when Sham's driving, finally Adam has to learn to sit in the newly bought baby car seat. Look at his blur face...hehehe

During the weekend, I brought little Adam to meet Auntie Bibah & Auntie Putri (my diploma mates). There were lotsa gossip and stories shared. Luckily, Sham is understanding and supportive to gimme time for ladies' day out.
Hope your turn will be soon, babes :P
