Thomas fondant cake

If last month I tried venturing into cake decorating with butter cream (read--> here), this month I managed to squeeze in between the hecticnschedule to try playing with sugarpaste fondant!

My partner is still Diah @ MamaPasha... and this project is absolutely on Lil' Cikebum's fav--- Thomas the Tank Engine that is!

This is her delectable steamed chocolate cake.
I tell u...it's like the Gardenia bread. I mean, it tastes great that u can even eat it on its own...no buttercream, icing and whatnot needed!!!

But looks like Thomas needs botox to diminish the wrinkles :P

Actually, the first try turned out to be similar (terlupa nak snap gambar)... but I wasn't so sure. So as usual, I asked the expert--my Cikebum la (who else?) and he said "Thomas!".

And I was indeed smiling ear to ear :)

After about an hour of colouring, kneading and shaping....Tadaaa!!!

HOTMAMA contest

Hey babes! Many of us have claimed that we are HOT MAMAS... but when it comes to our round, tired face, with an 'air-bag'... would we still look hot? C'mon, let's put up an entry for the contest organized by MummyQis!!!

I myself found that I didn't act much in front of the camera when Li'l Cikebum was still in my tummy (womb, I mean)... and I regret it! I doubt that MummyQis would consider pix of unnoticeable bulge in early pregnancy.

So, I browsed the folders of the third trimester to make sure the lump is big enough to draw the attention. These are amongst the pix of the fat-bulous me during my 6th month of pregnancy.


It was during our 3rd honeymoon (delayed due to monsoon season) and I was so keen to go snorkelling at Perhentian Island like I used to during my single years.

My eldest sister said to me... "Hang pi la... nanti ikan tu gigit perut hang!!!" (Elehh..jeles la tu!)

Hmmm...apparently the bulge was not too big, eh? What to do? I was helplessly skinny before I was pregnant! 43.5kg!

But throughout the 9 beautiful months, I succesfully gained 20kg! Yay! Hahaha.

I was a bit worried to think what if I don't shrink after delivery? Yet that was just a waste of time to think of. I am now back to my thin (but not slender anymore) figure.

To those who have seen me or my pix before and after would agree that my initial build is okay. And hey... I feel womanly too! *wink*

BIG EYES SHOP babywearing giveaway

I am excited upon knowing that the Big Eyes Shop is having a giveaway of a babywearing. Let me tell u why...

Babywearing! That's the word I kept in mind since I found it in the web some time ago. Why? Bcoz when I was pregnant of Little Munchkin, I really wanted to have one... but I didn't know where to get it. And even if I did, I didn't know the term used for this handy sling.

That day, I was resting on a bench after strolling in Jusco Bukit Raja when I saw a Chinese holding her baby in that thing. Being the usual I'd-rather-try-than-regret me, I walked towards her and asked where to buy it. Unfortunately, she claimed that she bought it somewhere far from where I lived.

I suppose, by then I was so limitedly-exposed...or perhaps I wasn't lucky enough to find this babywearing being widely sold in Malaysia, even in blogs! Pouch, ring slings...u name it...all's there. Pity eh?

So, when I found few websites selling it... I have bookmarked them, bcoz I definitely am gonna get one for the next baby, instead of using the 3 baby carriers I have at home!

And now I can start dreaming on how to style it too...

p/s: this is not the pix of the Chinese I met. Hehehe

Alalala...tomelnye... style ni bagus utk cover Mama yg dah ada spare tyre. Haha

I know that this babywearing offers many advantages, but my main concern is to avoid muscle cramps while carrying the baby.

Look at these ring slings... Aside from providing comfort, it's stylo too! That's the thing I realized about the Big Eyes Shop- the fabric design doesn't look cheap and makes u look like Mak Pondong from Indon.

And I love this blue-purple sling very much! (Very the UiTM! Hahaha)

Too bad, the giveaway is none of the above, but that should be good enough for me! Demand pulak...biasa ni!!! Hehehe.

To cover its selekeh-ness and distract people from staring at the antique sling bag, I sometimes put on an oversized Teddy. Cover babe, jangan tak cover....Hahaha.

As u could see, it's very old ...no..no... it's ancient! And doesn't suit my personality anymore.

I hardly carry sling bags nowadays, except for when attending sports events, going on field trips with students and such... (well, takkan nak bergaya dengan handbag pulak kan?)

But deep inside my heart, I love it bcoz
1. it makes u look relaxed and
2. the most important thing is... it has less tendencies to be snatched as it slings around the body! Selamat!!!
That's why I am looking for a suitable one now, to be brought while travelling to Bandung next month.

So far, my survey has brought me to disappointment, as most sling bags are typically designed with dull colours.
But hey, Okinokiyo has brought me to look at sling bags from another perspective now. With beautiful prints on high quality fabrics, it's hard to say no!!!

Have a look at this... it's gorgeous, isn't it?

So, Okinokiyo...if I don't get the sling bag...I have two choices:-
1. to buy it from u (if I were rich enough---eheks!) from other places (u wouldn't want this, would u?)
2. to proceed carying my shabby, worn & torn ancient bag..huhu. Sedih kan? :P

This entry might be offensive to some readers. But bear in mind... this is MY page!

Last fortnight, I was in dilemma whether or not to conceive... that I posted an entry --> here.

And I got an overwhelming moral support from friends like Salzahari, Mamamarina, Haida Hussin, Mama Pasha, Yan, Intan, E-car nazrin, MamaEsya, Oya, Suealeen, Kakyong, Oyis. Thanks, babes!

It made me relieved on realizing that everything will just flow by itself, thence started consoling myself to just leave it to Him whilst trying to control my temper at the same time (macam le control sangat!!!).

A week later (last Saturday, that is) I was surprised to discover that I was visited by that close friend of mine after a good quiet 20 months. Hahaha! Yes, I had my menses again! The last time I had it was after giving birth to the munchkin... and since then, I had no excuses not to perform prayers.

Funny that within the 20 months, I have never had lazy to perform solat... unlike those younger days, when once in a while, I would be automatically slothful when it's almost time to get 'it'.


It was a haywire as I haven't brought any pads with me and I almost forgot how it felt like to have it. To make things worse, the heavy flow caused leakages several times and I was blur... like the first time having it. Ish..ish..ish...

Some people might wonder...how come I never had it for such a long time. Oh well... it's bcoz I have been breastfeeding the little munchkin since the first day he was born until today. So, in three months time (that he'll reach two), I'll get my PhD in breastfeeding! Hehehe...

I pray that I can provide him with the love feeding till then... (as I realize the yield is decreasing lately).

On a lighter note, this catamenia I'm having I take as a guide from Him for us to re-plan for the future whether or not to have an addition to the family.
