Are u sure u are a Doctor?

Today is the 2nd day Adam stopped throwing up. Apparently, he's back to normal. But there's a big question mark on my head.

How could that night, the doctor said that Cikebum is lactose-intolerant? To repeat, he said 'lactulose' instead of lactose. I don't know which is which. However if he is, how come Adam recovered while I never stopped breastfeeding and didn't even try the soy-based formula???

Another thing that pesters me is the doctors at HTAA Kuantan, where my FIL is getting his treatment. He was warded since last month when he had difficulties to breathe (like an asthma attack). Yet, there were various diagnosis and claims saying that he has heart problems and must be admitted to IJN.

A few days after, I asked hubby "When is Abah going to IJN?"
He said "Ohh...he's not. The Dr said he might suffer from Parkinson."

Crikey! wtf? These are like the sky and the earth!

Then, days later they said that he has to undergo dialysis.
Apa ni? Kejap itu, kejap ini.
Takkan nak cari Dr. House pulak!

I wonder at one stage, these people could cause patients to lose their feet, when suddenly they were diagnosed with severe diabetes whereas they only have athlete's foot...
Or maybe someone might have to go for a bypass surgery while the person just suffers from migraine.

According to Dr. Najah, she made a call and discovered that my FIL actually was admitted bcoz of high bp... it's sorta associated with asthma. So, the heart fails to perform its tasks...and so forth...
Then, one thing leads to another... up to the kidney failure. So, he's undergoing peritoneal dialysis and if things are not improving, he'll have to undergo haemodialysis.
Whew! That's much convincing.

My oh my...
I don't regret not being a Doctor. I might not have the intelligence, nor the patience... but suffice to say, I'm glad I'm not.

p/s:
This entry is not an insult to Doctors. Somehow, I'm gonna be a Dr. too - it's just not a medical Dr.

Laurels to Najah

Today, while feeling lazy at work, I played some mp3 on my computer. One of them was Goodbye (Air Supply)- why on earth do they call themselves with this name?

The song reminded me of Najah, my best friend. I quickly grabbed my hp and texted her. Call me sentimental, call me mushy... yes, I always reminisce the memories of my friends (perhaps none of them ever thought of me as much as I do about them).

I told her that I still remember we used to sing that song during prep time, at the teacher's table. We even 'sing' the piano tunes in the bridge of the song. Haha! Those days...

Najah...if not singing, she'd be reading the book. Me...if not singing, I'd be sleeping the whole prep time. Hahaha. Now, u know why I am not a Doctor like her! :P

Anyway, she's a friend I am always proud of and I admire since we started being friends. I remember having a bad impression when I first knew her. Time changed, and we became close friends.

She was in love with Bear, her boyfriend (then), but I was the one who always drew 'bears' for her, wrap her presents for Bear, etc.
After 10 years, they got married, but I couldn't make it as I was away for my Masters.

Now that she's a doctor, I always refer to her on any illnesses/diseases, and she's always helpful in providing me info of what I'd like to know.

Later, while I was giving lecture, Najah texted me. Her UPT is positive! Yay! Kudos, dear friend! I'm soooo happy for u. Looks like Wafiy has to learn being more tolerable from now on. (wink)

Running nose

Arghhh... I hate it when I catch a flu. It keeps my nose running, if not stuffy.

Sham made a joke saying that that's what people mean when they say "Air naik ke kepala" (if u got what I mean). Hahaha. Kalau ye pun, air tu penuh, xde lah overflow kat lubang hidung, kan? :P

The good things about not feeling well

  1. The doctor* will bring the medicine & water for me, cover me with blanket and give me as many pillows I want.
  2. Extra attention. Hehe. I'll get back massages till I fall asleep. Anyway, I do get massages almost everyday, but that's upon request!
  3. Priority on me –nak makan apa? But somehow, this is also a disadvantage, bcoz I don’t mind eating anything.
  4. I would be allowed to take long shower, don't have to rush to look after Cikebum. After taking the medicine, I could just go to bed (with Cikebum) and the doctor* will turn into maid mode. hehehe.

The bad things about not feeling well

  1. I get mad easily, esp. when little Cikebum is extra mengada-ngada.
  2. Still have to wake up early and go to work. Bukan rajin, but I just don't wanna be alone at home. It must be worse. Stay at home with Cikebum around? No…
  3. Medicine makes me drowsy.. hence I’d just sleep. If I were to be at home, might as well I watch the TV. Hehe..isn’t it considered resting too?
  4. I just want to merap…(Read: meghap). Over-pampered.
  5. The doctor* wouldn’t allow me to eat this and that (though I still do). Banyak pulak pantang-larang!
  6. Little Cikebum may also get the flu. (Goes back to point No.1)
Luckily the Doctor* is not sick too. Otherwise, lagi susah le jawabnye. In sickness and in health la katakan....

I need to rest to recuperate from this flu, but I don't wanna cancel the lectures today.

*the Doctor = Sham le. Who else?
